Upon further consideration, I think I agree with Andrus. We could do the
validation on local datasources, but it would be of questionable value since
the exception message is already fairly clear. We could wrap the exception to
make it more user friendly if need be. For non-datasources, the user may
simply not care if they can connect to the DB from the modeler.
There's obviously a lot of value for those that need to connect, but I'd
advocate just using a local datasource in that case.
