Okay, I finally decided to debug this a bit myself. I'm getting the following
swallowed exception:
java.io.IOException: system clipboard data unavailable
I noticed this in PasteAction#getState, but likely is a problem for cut and
copy as well.
Env.: MacOS X 10.5.5, Java5.
