The OpenCMIS Developers Guide states:
"OpenCMIS does not allow you create objects with a custom type, but you can
access existing objects of a custom type, and access the custom property
values."
Creating objects with custom type is possible. Only the creation of custom
types itself is not possible via CMIS. Therefore the sentence should be changed
to something like:
"OpenCMIS does not allow you create custom types but you can access existing
custom types and create objects of custom types"
