If you are using the InMemory repository reusing properties between types is not supported when creating types through CMIS calls. The CMIS spec does not forbid reusing properties and nor does opencmis. It is only a restriction in the current implementation of the InMemory server. Other repositories can have such a restriction as well or can support reusing properties. It is vendor dependent.
