Hi Eric,
I think the one uploaded on the apache website link
http://www.apache.org/dyn/closer.cgi/incubator/chukwa/ is wrong chukwa tar
ball. I checked downloading manually and see that it does not have proper
directory structure too. I have compiled locally, but not sure how to upload
to this link. I think you should upload chukwa-incubating-0.5.0.tar.gz file
instead of chukwa-incubating-src-0.5.0.tar.gz. Let me know if I can upload
along with How-To steps.
