Just as an FYI to the team that there is this concept which applies mainly to the RIS, but perhaps may be made use of for the Viewer in an enterprise setting: Transaction Notifier determines changes to entity objects in the system, and then notifies registered clients of the fact that there's a change. The client then asks the server for the updated data of an object. Worklist Notifier allows the notification system to be more efficient by notifying only those clients who have registered that they are "viewing" a particular class of worklist. These concepts enable "live" or almost-live updates to objects on the clients. They also pose questions as to the boundary conditions where performance will start to deteriorate. Clinton
