I've not looked at the attached source code but ideally the JPA implementation
should not be tied to a specific implementation. If you have a better patch
feel free to attach it here.
One of the interesting specs that have come out is the annotation based
validation support. Unless it has a dependency on JAva6, that could be used to
drive the validation of the entities.
