It still sounds like the sub-region "clipping" is going to contain a time 
option.  Assuming this is correct, I'm confused as to why we would retain any 
option to change the time bounds at all.  Subregions only work spatially, not 
temporally.  Temporal subsetting, which is also a valuable feature to have in a 
toolkit, would work temporally not spatially.
