Hi Chris, Thanks for getting this done in a timely matter, as now I no longer have to bother Kyo whenever I need to get my changes committed.
Anyway, though everyone on the RCMES team at JPL should know me, I'll go ahead and talk a little bit about myself. I am currently a summer intern at JPL working under Chris Mattmann for RCMES. Afterwards, I will be attending Colorado State University as a newly admitted graduate student in the Department of Atmospheric Science. I currently hold a B.S. in Atmospheric Science from UIUC, though I have completed several courses in Computer Science since that was my original major. My research interests primarily are related to climate dynamics, model development, and scientific computing but I am also interested in open source software development and am a lover of the Python programming language since it was the first one I learned. Most computing courses in Atmospheric Science education tend to teach MATLAB, but I enthusiastically ditched it after learning about NumPy / SciPy / matplotlib. Because of my knowledge of those packages, my work with RCMES will primarily focus on refactoring the evaluation toolkit and developing the visualization functionality, though I hope to contribute to the more technical parts of the project as well. As for personal interests... I am not sure if it is appropriate to mention some of those here but I love to cook (especially those dishes that must be simmered for several hours) and am also an avid drinker of craft beer (which was part of reason that I chose to attend CSU in Fort Collins as there are many breweries in town). Anyway, hopefully I didn't bore any of you too much with that, but I am pleased to be a member of the project. Thanks again! Alex -- Alex Goodman
