Iceberg-cpp is still incomplete and only supports limited features for now. We may adopt a compromise solution: implement core basic functions temporarily via Java proxy first, and refactor the code to use Iceberg-Cpp once it is fully functional. A phased implementation approach seems more realistic at the moment.
