Hello,

In my previous role at Yourhosting in the Netherlands (still part of the group where I'm CTO) now we developed a repository [0] where we build various Operating System templates using Packer [1].

These templates are easy to built and work directly on CloudStack, but they currently contain some Yourhosting specific things like DNS.

We would be open to donate this repository to the CloudStack project as a new repository: apache/cloudstack-templates

As a project we could then easily provide templates to the community which can be used out of the box. I'm not sure if we can and want to provide pre-build QCOW2 images on download.cloudstack.org, but already providing the repository can help a lot of users.

How would other in the project/community think about this? Would this be a good addition for CloudStack?

Wido
