Subject: Re: [VOTE] Apache CloudStack 4.6.0

Hi all,

First of all: Thank You for all the testing of RC1. It was a good candidate as
many people indicated. But unfortunately not good enough.

I’m cancelling the vote due to a broken upgrade path towards 4.6.0
(CLOUDSTACK-9046) that Wilder discovered over the weekend. Obviously it makes
no sense to release a product you cannot easily upgrade towards.

Wilder and I are working on CLOUDSTACK-9046, a PR will be sent when all the
tests pass and the PR is tested. Expect it today.

This also brings in the opportunity to fix some of the issues people reported
while testing RC1. Many of them have PRs open so please help review and test
them so they gan make it to RC2.

Known issues from RC1:

  * CLOUDSTACK-9046: Upgrade path (PR pending)
  *   CLOUDSTACK-9040: Ubuntu packaging (PR 1040)
  *   CLOUDSTACK-9045: Debian mountpoint issue (PR 1045)
  *   CLOUDSTACK-9043: UI translation fixes (PR 1043)
  * CentOS 7 packaging issue, no Jira issue nor PR yet

We might also consider (given proper reviews and tests):

  * CLOUDSTACK-9044: Add RBD to setup wizard (PR 1046)
  * CLOUDSTACK-9038: Performance of Infrastructure tab (PR 1036)
  *   CLOUDSTACK-9029: Identify CentOS 7 properly (PR 1033)

While we didn’t consider the CentOS 7 packaging a blocker, it might be nice to
have a look it now as well (although I don’t want it to delay the release). Who
can have a look at the CentOS 7 packaging? Do you have time @davidamorimfaria?

Expect a new RC tomorrow the latest. You can continue to test the previous RC
as long as you keep in mind the known issues reported above.

Regards,
Remi
