Strange Entities in cocoon.xconf + more

Hi everyone,

I'm noticing strange entities in cocoon.xconf:

  <!--..... Start configuration from 'apples-processor' -->&#13;

at the end of certain lines.  I've also noticed strangeness with the 
'garbage' flowscript sample:

http://localhost:8080/cocoon-2.1/samples/garbage/calc/

After a full build of everything, I see things like:

<?xml version="1.0">
&#13;
&#13;
&#13;
&#13;
Which appears to be newlines.  Is something getting messed up in the 
build process that is causing these to be inserted?

I'm not sure about the extent to which these entities are appearing in 
our files.  Any ideas?
