Hi.

As many arrive already on Sunday evening, I'd like to propose to meet
and share a some food or a beer (maybe two,...).
Steven suggested "de Vooruit" http://www.vooruit.be/

It's a large "Grand Cafe", used to be the bastion of the Socialist Workers Union. No real food, though, but there's stuff in the neighbourhood.

For the geographically inclined, it is situated near "het Zuid", which used to be the quarter of many pleasures quite some time ago. It's about a 20 minute walk from the city center. Oh BTW: Ghent is a quite peaceful place at night. And yes, once you booked yourself into your room, you should be able to wander around by foot in Ghent, it's pretty compact if you know your way around. A map is required, though: the city has been build before geographical planning became a common practice.

So, I suggest those interested in meeting should turn up starting
2000h. Look out for some English talking Geeks with GetTogether 2002
T-shirts ;-)

Opinions?

I'll pop in for a drink around 21:00 is all goes well.

Spoiling Marc's fun of a first post, we switched plans for the Hackathon on Monday as well. The Hackathon will be held in "Het Pand" as well, which will reduce the transportation problem considerably. But he will put stuff up on the Wiki to inform those who attend.

Cheers,

</Steven>
