My sincere apologies for such an accusation ;-)
You're right though, people have mentioned several times that releases should occur after FirstFridays, not right before.
But I haven't heard of any plans for 2.1.4.
And I guess we won't see anything the next couple of days because it has been very slow on the mailing list. I even have to write messages myself (instead of lurking, as usual) to generate some traffic :-)
