You can't rely on the fact that recycle() is always called on your component. The current implementations ECM and Fortress, don't do this under heavy load
Hold on here, does this apply to *any* component or just for the components that are being discussed here? I am quite heavily leaning on this concept for some of my stuff (cocoon 2.0.4).
