The Xalan release would be a nice to have for our next release, but not a must IMO as we already released 2.1.3 with this broken Xalan 2.5.2.

Last week Elena announced the next release of Xerces would be this Wednesday. As with the previous release we need to formally show consensus that it is indeed time for a new release of Xerces-J, so I'm asking the committers to vote. Here's my +1.
We're hoping to announce a code freeze at the end of today (12:01 AM EST). If anyone finds a serious bug, please post a message to the mailing list and we will postpone the release.
