Let me explain what my code is doing exactly. My sample XML is for testing reasons only. With real data, it would look more like : <Para>2:This paragrah is about chapter two....etc.</Para> <Para>1:This paragrah is about chapter one....etc.</Para> I am substring-before(current(),':') to parse the "1" and "2" out from the string. I am using the number to sort which paragraph gets display first..etc. ":" is just a delimeter. When I display the content, I am displaying everthing after the ":", using substring-after(current(),':') By the way, I've tested using XML Spy. I hope this helps. Are you able to reproduce this?
