http://issues.apache.org/bugzilla/show_bug.cgi?id=25115 General review of all XML elements ------- Additional Comments From [EMAIL PROTECTED] 2004-03-13 10:39 ------- I think the word 'convertor' should be considered to be changed to 'converter', like already suggested. Here are the old discussions: http://marc.theaimsgroup.com/?t=105942333100005&r=1&w=2 http://marc.theaimsgroup.com/?l=xml-cocoon-dev&m=105942332224029&w=2 http://marc.theaimsgroup.com/?l=xml-cocoon-dev&m=105948775611521&w=2 http://marc.theaimsgroup.com/?l=xml-cocoon-dev&m=105949225318076&w=2 Here you can see, that users (and even woody developers themselves) sometimes used the word 'converter' instead of 'convertor': http://marc.theaimsgroup.com/?l=xml-cocoon-dev&m=107531031825159&w=2 http://marc.theaimsgroup.com/?l=xml-cocoon-dev&m=105955048208945&w=2 http://marc.theaimsgroup.com/?l=xml-cocoon-dev&m=106191109914065&w=2 http://marc.theaimsgroup.com/?l=xml-cocoon-dev&m=106577083816675&w=2 http://marc.theaimsgroup.com/?l=xml-cocoon-dev&m=105948775611521&w=2 Here is an additional argument: A Google query brings 11,700,000 for 'converter' and just 538,000 for 'convertor' (and suggests to use 'converter' instead). In general I can live with both names, but I want to make sure, that the big picture is considered wrt ease of use and then a decision is done. My personal favorite tends to be 'converter', but that might not count ;-) As I said before it's more important for me that there's a well-thought community decision.
