http://issues.apache.org/bugzilla/show_bug.cgi?id=30018 [PATCH] Cleanup transformer ------- Additional Comments From [EMAIL PROTECTED] 2004-08-14 20:01 ------- I guess also worth noting that an alternate reason for me to write this was for educational purposes. Back in 1995, learning about the web basically involved "View Source" on a variety of pages. Everyone used a text editor as there were no WYSIWYGs at the time. Seeing the difference between good markup and bad markup was much much easier. Also, once people starting heavily nesting tables, proper indentation became necessary to fix even the most minor of layout bugs. Nowadays, if I have someone else on a project that doesn't know HTML (or XML) well, I can't just point them to pages on the Net or my own pages for that matter. Dynamically generated pages typically are made to be readable on the code side, not the output side. This is my answer to the problem. So, once again, IndentTransformer vs. CleanupTransformer vs. MakeItPrettyTransformer vs. HowDoThoseTablesNestTransformer all do not matter to me. I chose CleanupTransformer simply because it reflected my intent rather than IndentTransformer which reflects implementation.
