OK, but there must be a way to mark off the old docs as either "added" or
"deprecated" to know when you're finished looking at the old docs.

a wiki page should be good enough.

A comment at the top of each document stating that the document was reviewed, added, or depreciated and who made such a determination and why would be very useful as well.
