This is not dirrected to you Upayavira or about the HTML block, your change log just made me wanting to comment.

IMO, we are not necesarilly looking for maintainers for all blocks. We mainly want to give our users and our selves a realistic idea about where our focus actually is.

If it happens that a block isn't supported by any comitters but that many users find it important, it might at first sight look bad for the users of it. But if we think a little bit more about it, it rather means that the block isn't in a community who care for it.

This could be a wakeup call for those users who actually care, to fork the block and support it to e.g. Sourceforge and build a community around it there. We should of course support such initiatives by providing links to external blocks from our site, and also by deprecating our copy of the block when we see that the external variant really took off.
