Agreed. To achieve the goal of less code would require major overhauls of the entire system.

Yes. I think Cocoon could be greatly simplified knowing what we know now. This would be a worthwhile endeavor but not one that should be undertaken at the cost of slowing advancement. Remember Netscape.
