Indeed, but the SVN tag is supposed to be the same as the source archive.
If it's not, then I would hope this would be flagged up in the RC vote, and
likely cause a respin.

So building from the tag should be equivalent to building from the source
archive.

Everything else is just for users convenience. So the user must be

The build is not halted if the code is built from source.
