That is because the web site is not part of the release and not part of
the release vote so it hasn't been uploaded to dist.a.o
If I download the zip or tar i should have the release notes right there.
I'm not sure how you created the RC, but we normally generate the release
notes from the changes.xml file through a Maven plugin.
That isn't how Daemon has been set up. If you want to change this feel
free and we can pick up the change in the next RC (if there is one) or
the next release.
I will note that:
mvn deploy -Dcommons.release.isDistModule=true -Prelease
didn't complete cleanly but didn't appear to affect the release
artifacts. I've now figured out that was due to MNG-7316 and I'll add an
note to HOW-TO-RELEASE.txt for future reference.
