This evening I attended the TAC concall to explore how ComDev could work with TAC. Here are my notes from the call (I've ommitted the TAC specific stuf since I was there to represent ComDev)
Cross-publicise We need to work with Sally to create a marketing plan Not clear if this would be a single effort or two separate efforts Each targeting slightly different groups TAC - people ready to be a part of the community Comdev - people who don't know how ASF works Include mentee status in evaluation? It was generally agreed that we could "hand off" to TAC so they can "finish the job" and bring them into the ASF ComDev should actively encourage mentees to apply for TAC as part of the programme TAC will consult with ComDev (and hence mentors) about the suitability of the candidate Include mentor status in evaluation? It was felt that we can work something out where successful mentors would be credited as such within the TAC application process ComDev should actively encourage mentors to apply to TAC as this will help TAC reach out to the right people TAC will consult with ComDev (and hence mentees) about the suitability of the candidate -- Ross Gardler OSS Watch - supporting open source in education and research http://www.oss-watch.ac.uk
