Hi All,

This question might be asked several time by different different people who
do have interest being a apache contributor.I would like to ask this
question again. How can I get into Apache project as contributor ?. I have
read the guide lines available in Apache website. They suggest to follow
the particular project that you are interested and use the software then
pinpoint where things can be improved.

When it comes to my point of view, all are true. But everyone is not at same
level to follow those guide lines perfectly. In my case I would like to join
to Java based web service project. I have tried several products. I feel if
you need to find issues by your own at first hand it won't be that much easy
since I'm not a well seasoned about the software.Other scenario is there are
existing defects in JIRA they said you can work on those issues.

My point is product complexity matter for newcomers.I head that there are
mentoring activities happens in Apache.Probably it might be helpful for
me.How can I find a mentor if I like to work on existing bug ?.

I'm waiting for reply from great community.

Thanks
Nuwan Arambage
