Hi folks, After the Apache BarCamp Colombo event we received a proposal to have small scale event in Kandy (Sri Lanka) also some discussions going on to have a event in Jaffna (Sri Lanka) too. After our last BarCamp I realized that the BarCamp branding is not properly fix with the event structure. Please refer the expected structure given below. Target audience : Mostly IT undergraduate and some IT professionals, most of them are new to Apache. No of heads : 50 - 75 Speakers : Mainly local ASF committers and ASF members but welcome for foreign speakers. Structure of the event : 1.) Agenda is semi-defined ( No of sessions and session's topics are define few days before the event.) 2.) Mainly cover introductory sessions about Apache Software Foundation, Start Apache contribution, Apache way etc. 3.) It may be possible to have demonstrations using one or two apache projects to give some hands-on above 2.) Sponsors : Refreshments arranged by original proposers of the event through their local sponsors or organizations. local speakers take care about their transportation costs and most of the cases no accommodation required. Marketing will be done by original proposers through their local channels and social media. According this document [1] MeetUp brand can be suitable here but these event does not specifically target any projects instead mainly focus on community development. Personally I think "Apache MeetUp" brand is good name for this. I would like to know your opinions on this matter whether we can agree on this name or do we need to find new brand name ? or any other suggestions ?
