Well I just did a talk at RestFest in which I showed a FULL Java API Framework (50 mb) on a default Raspberry Pi that does 171 requests per second.
Has: - CORS - ORM - Token mngmt - rate limiting - automated api doc generation - api chaining (tm) - api abstraction - shared I/O state - webhooks -caching - role/privilege mngmt - and more... The code is all GPL and open source and I have have helped/consulted with a few enterprise companies to help them overcome issue like 'the architectural cross cutting concern' which I discovered (and coined the term).
