The board did not like the idea of sending a survey to committers@. I think this one is different because they came to us via a project (Fineract) and they want to do a presso at an event we are doing with an OSS career topic.
To me, it's well aligned and would justify the exception. The issue has been deferred to ComDev. Will send another email in a moment with Sherae. -------- Forwarded Message -------- Subject: Fwd: Fineract Developer Careers Date: Tue, 18 Sep 2018 16:46:54 -0400 From: Kevin A. McGrail <kmcgr...@apache.org> To: Apache Board <bo...@apache.org> CC: fundrais...@apache.org <fundrais...@apache.org> Directors, Sherae Daniel, Ph.D., at University of Cincinatti wishes to solicit our committers for a survey on OSS and Careers. She would then be interested in presenting the results at the roadshow. They are willing to make a donation to the ASF as well. Her introduction letter and CV are attached. I think it's an interesting idea that I support with or without the donation. Because it's for Academia, I support the request that I would likely decline for a corporation. Any history on such requests? Does the board have feedback on how fundraising should respond to the request? Regards, KAM -- Kevin A.
