+1, I like the idea, OFBiz uses also some limited geospatial information

The geospatial track at ApacheCon NA 2018 yesterday was overflowing the room.
One of the discussions was about Apache Projects include some geospatial
functionality.
These projects were identified as having geo functionality directly in their
project:
- SIS, Calcite, Lucene, Solr, Marmotta, Open Climate Workbench, SDAP, Druid
These projects are known to have significant geospatial extensions not part of
the core project:
- Spark (GeoSpark, GeoTrellis), Accumulo (Geowave, Geomesa), Jena / Fuseki,
UIMA (Baleen)
Having each of these projects add geospatial as a category would facilitation
coordination.

Hello all
Following discussions at ApacheCon this week, I propose to add a new
category to the following files:
*
https://svn.apache.org/repos/asf/infrastructure/site-tools/trunk/projects/xdocs/categories.xml
*
https://svn.apache.org/repos/asf/infrastructure/site-tools/trunk/projects/xdocs/create.xml
Some of current categories are "cloud", "content", "database", "mail",
etc. The new category would be "geospatial" for projects handling
geospatial information. This would parallel the existing geospatial@a.o
mailing list.
Is there any objection to the addition of "geospatial" category?
+1, make it so. Given that (one presumes) there will be several PMCs
who specifically *want* to add this as their category in the list, it's
an obvious and easy solution that helps projects better promote themselves.
Exciting to see the geospatial track again at ApacheCon, as well as hear
the discussions about our Apache communities doing more coordination -
both internally and externally.
