Off the top of my head I would think that companies that make editors, editor plugins, perf tools, ruggedized packs, think about what you use, or what you would like to use and those are the vendors. In addition, the conference could talk up the vendor booths with potential attendees.
What you are targeting is the sweet spot where enough small vendors will pay enough to support the conference and where they will have the opportunity to make a profit or get known in the community. This is why you open the vendor area to non-conference attendees. Vendors might sell more and the conference might pick up day pass sales.
