yes, heuristic to auto-list a default unique project from a PMC is easy
even if auto-detected project description is really sparse: see for example
https://projects.apache.org/project.html?pekko or follow any project in the
no-tlp-doap category
I'm just not a Python expert: updating
https://github.com/apache/comdev-projects/blob/trunk/scripts/cronjobs/parseprojects.py
to match the js version takes me more time than discussing in plain english :)
