Dear Apache Software Foundation Team,

I hope you are doing well.

My name is Kshitij Jha, and I am an undergraduate Computer Science
first-year B.Tech student who is preparing to participate in the next
Google Summer of Code (GSoC) program.

I am particularly interested in contributing to the following organizations:

   -

     *Apache Software Foundation*

I would be grateful if you could provide guidance on the following:

   1.

When the application portal for the next GSoC program is expected to
   open.
   2.

The recommended timeline for starting contributions before submitting a
   proposal.
   3.

Best practices for making meaningful open-source contributions that
   strengthen a GSoC application.
   4.

Official resources or documentation that every prospective GSoC
   contributor should review.
   5.

Whether contributors should contact organizations directly before the
application period, and if so, the recommended way to do so.
   6.

Any general advice for first-time applicants to maximize their chances
   of being selected.

I am currently learning Python, HTML, CSS, and JavaScript, and I want to
build the right skills and contribute meaningfully before applying. I
understand that individual organizations have their own mentors, project
ideas, and selection processes. My goal is to begin preparing well in
advance and contribute meaningfully before submitting my application.

Thank you for your time and guidance. I look forward to your response.

Kind regards,

Kshitij Jha
