I just filed https://issues.apache.org/jira/browse/CB-8278 about readding platforms after installing a plugin with variables..
It definitely needs to be fixed. @sgill: I guess this also doesn't block the release because we probably shipped with this bug in a previous plugman. Unless variables are new -- if they are, we shouldn't ship with them as they really break projects. Sent from my BlackBerry 10 smartphone.
