+1 for deprecating allowEdit. To reiterate my earlier comments in the PR, the README indicates that this feature is known to be unreliable and unsafe on Android. We even recommend against its use. In my opinion, we should remove the feature from all platforms. Making it platform-specific by removing it from only one platform is not ideal. We generally try to maintain cross-platform compatibility for our core plugins as much as possible.
