Neither /tmp/couchdb.stdout nor /tmp/couchdb.stderr is created. > Basically, stop trying to do this via the init.d script and try to > do it by hand I already tried running couchdb directly by hand, as the couchdb user. It shows nothing - no console output, no listening on port 5984. I only ran from the init script last time because you suggested editing etc/default/couchdb, and that's sourced in the init script (i.e. it doesn't affect running couchdb directly from the command line, AFAICS) Any more suggestions?
