How to password protect couchdb web interface (futon)?

The server is running the following version of couchdb:
{"couchdb":"Welcome","version":"0.10.1"}
And currently the futon web interface can be accessed by the public. Is there a
way of password protecting the futon web interface? Would it be possible to use
an htpasswd file using htaccess?
