imo, no. Requiring R13B04 means we don't support Ubuntu 10.04, even if there's 
a workaround (backporting).

huh? even Ubuntu LTS is now 12.04 Debian Wheezy might be a better target. Meanwhile Couchdb could use whatever performance gains it can get. I'm understanding logic here less and less.



I guess we're stuck with the status quo for now.
