Wendall Cada commented on COUCHDB-1714:
---------------------------------------
This needs a windows aware section to properly restart on windows. taskkill
works with XP and newer
https://www.microsoft.com/resources/documentation/windows/xp/all/proddocs/en-us/taskkill.mspx?mfr=true
I'd propose using taskkill /t PID as it appears to be the equivalent of -TERM.
> Remove usage of restart_core_server in favor of kill -TERM

> Currently when issuing a restart, an internal init:restart() is issued. This
> only restarts the core and not any external processes. Killing the process
> and starting again is the only way to ensure that all processes properly exit
> before starting again.
