Dave Cottlehuber commented on COUCHDB-1379:
-------------------------------------------
Indeed they do produce the same output. I am not yet clear how to apply this to
the original issue, so this is a > 1.5 fix. I don't see a need for a rush job
on this.

> Project: CouchDB

> Components: Database Core

> Priority: Trivial

>
> Ref COUCHDB-1337 and subsequent 8d83b3 on 1.2.0/12.x branch. etag testing
> was extended to validate the digest returned by CouchDB for attachments.
> Compressed attachments do not produce a consistent digest across platforms,
> due
> to differing compression algorithms between Mac/Linux and Windows.
> The test suite should confirm that etags only change when the attachment is
> updated,
> and are otherwise consistent.
