Alexander Shorin created COUCHDB-2466:
-----------------------------------------

             Summary: Recent and favourite queries
                 Key: COUCHDB-2466
                 URL: https://issues.apache.org/jira/browse/COUCHDB-2466
             Project: CouchDB
          Issue Type: New Feature
      Security Level: public (Regular issues)
          Components: Fauxton
            Reporter: Alexander Shorin

The idea is trivial: let Fauxton remember view queries that user made. Recent
ones and be able to mark some of them as favourite to remember them for a much
more longer period by storing them in browser local storage (as an example).

Rationale.
When you use Fauxton actively you have to not just browse documents, create a
few more views, manage databases and replications. You also have to query the
views in the very different ways. Some queries are happens rarely or only just
for one single time, but some of them you have to repeat from time to time,
everyday, dozen times on the single day. And these queries may require for
spend significant amount of time for tweaking query parameters to run them
correctly (startkey/endkey for complex keys / multiple keys / group level /
ordering + ensure you enter everything right etc.). Providing a feature to
remember the recent and storing favourite queries will improve user experience
a lot.

The great example of the feature is JIRA: it allows to run custom, very complex
queries against project issues. But it also allows to save (make favourite)
query to run it again with single click in future if you need it often.
