@iilyak what is the current status of this PR? It looks as though it was
killed off and then resuscitated. If it's still alive, I agree with @davisp
that this is a hairy part of the codebase, that needs careful review and
testing. My last attempts on it broke replication of multipart documents in way
I still haven't devoted the time to solving.
