Joan Touzet resolved COUCHDB-2636.
----------------------------------
Resolution: Won't Fix
Assignee: Joan Touzet
Hi Sam, thanks for reporting this. I am guessing that you lost some important
data in a document of yours, and for that, I apologize on behalf of the CouchDB
team.
The Futon interface is deprecated in Couch 1.7.x and completely replaced with
"Fauxton" in 2.0. As such we won't be revisiting Futon to make changes to it at
this point.
I encourage you to download a CouchDB 2.0 preview build and see if Fauxton
works better for you!
All the best,
Joan
> Futon loses data from fields being edited on save

> Key: COUCHDB-2636
> URL: https://issues.apache.org/jira/browse/COUCHDB-2636
> Project: CouchDB
> Issue Type: Bug
> Security Level: public(Regular issues)
> Components: Futon

>
> When you're editing a document in Futon via the "Fields" editor, and you
> click "Save Document", any fields that are still being edited (ie, you
> haven't clicked the green tick or red x) are reverted when being saved.
> Couch version: 1.6.1
> Steps to reproduce:
> 1. Go to a document in Futon
> 2. Spend an hour writing text into a text field
> 3. Hit "save document"
> Expected behaviour:
> Data is saved, or some kind of "please confirm your changes" warning appears.
> Actual behaviour:
> Data disappears irrevocably.
> Note that this doesn't affect the "Source" editor because it updates as soon
> as the textarea loses focus.
