Hi list,

couchperuser is a CouchDB daemon that ensures that a private per-user
database exists for each document in _users. These databases are
writable only by the corresponding user. Databases are in the form:
userdb-{hex encoded username}

For example, the user bob will have a database named userdb-626f62.

Bob Ippolito who wrote the plugin is happy to donate it to the ASF.
Klaus Trainer is currently working on 2.0 integration and one proposal
in the weekly-meeting last week was to turn it off by default. The
import / donation of the code needs a vote of the CouchDB project.

We don't have a match for votings on code contributions in our bylaws,
so I am chosing Majority Approval by the PMC (that is, 3 +1’s and no
-1’s) and a 72 hour voting period beginning now (like the BigCouch
vote in August and Mango).

Best,
Robert
