    Well, at least it would serve its purpose here: 
    ```
    <a href="http://somecouch:5984/_design/somedoc"; 
download="somedoc.txt">download it!</a>
    ```
    will trigger the download (in Chrome, at least). We would not have to 2nd 
guess and couch does not seem to get in the way of it. Unfortunately, it sends 
content type as text/plain, but you can't have it all I guess
