Good idea, Michelle! One idea that I think could be powerful for a group like this is to explore d3 Data journalism is a strong wave and CouchDB and d3 are a perfect match.
It's also showcase Couch in a powerful way outside the DBA group. Other 2D and 3D graphics libraries in JavaScript might also bring users to Couch.
