Hey Guys! Just wanted to give you a heads up. I've created a project called "DRAT" or "Distributed Release Audit Tool". It improves upon a number of issues with RAT, some of which I've already filed in JIRA:
https://issues.apache.org/jira/browse/RAT-149 https://issues.apache.org/jira/browse/RAT-150 DRAT is currently on Github and ALv2 licensed: http://github.com/chrismattmann/drat/ It is my full intention to bring DRAT to the Apache Incubator - I am working the final approvals with JPL and NASA. DRAT has been funded by DARPA XDATA, by NASA investments and by NSF EarthCube. I took the approach in DRAT to not make these updates directly to RAT, but to leave it as a standalone "black box" and to wrap RAT with Apache OODT and augment its detection capabilities with Apache Tika. DRAT runs RAT as a Map Reduce operation, allowing it to analyze extremely large code bases. I'm currently working on several research papers describing DRAT's results against the Computational Infrastructure for Geodynamics (CIG), as well as running DRAT against the DARPA XDATA Git repository (a large repo of 24+ pieces of code that was the predecessor to the current DARPA Open Catalog which contains over 70+ assets and 10s of Ms of lines of code). Also just wanted to know that RAT-148 is a simple patch and still hasn't been committed over a year later. You may want to take a look. Cheers! Chris FYI I'm not subscribed to Creadur so please CC me directly in your replies. ++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++ Chris Mattmann, Ph.D. Chief Architect Instrument Software and Science Data Systems Section (398) NASA Jet Propulsion Laboratory Pasadena, CA 91109 USA Office: 168-519, Mailstop: 168-527 Email: [email protected] WWW: http://sunset.usc.edu/~mattmann/ ++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++ Adjunct Associate Professor, Computer Science Department University of Southern California, Los Angeles, CA 90089 USA ++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++
