Here is the job description: NLP Engineer – Real-time Clinical Decision Support MedNition Inc. is building a cutting edge Decision Support infrastructure for Doctors and Nurses to improve patient safety and help drive down costs for healthcare delivery. The ability to parse and understand raw medical records and translate this information into features for our machine learning algorithms is paramount to our goals and objectives. We are seeking an NLP engineer to support our growth, further our platform, and build our organization capabilities. General Skills * Independent thinker * Strong ability to interpret strategy goals into actionable technical projects * Research mindset – given our objectives are pushing the boundaries of technical capabilities, the candidate should be comfortable with working on the edge of research and be comfortable with self directed research of potential solutions to complex problems and designing and proposing solutions to the team that have “yet to be solved” * Quality Focused – Build solution which can be statistically validated by clinical experts * Team Focused – thrive on working in team environment to deliver results that are embraced by diverse teams with deep domain expertise (eg. PhD’s) Technical Skills * MS Computer Science * Strong background in Enterprise Java, SQL * Core knowledge of natural language processing techniques and familiarity with open source tools for text processing. * Experience with information retrieval and mapping of raw text to semantic ontologies (normalized name spaces) * Large Scale processing of datasets for further analysis for Business Intelligence or Machine Learning * Multi-threaded design and scalability * Experience in medical text processing and/or medical information extraction/retrieval * Understanding of machine learning and deep learning concepts, experience in using deep learning tools * Knowledge of Python * NoSQL databases experience * CTakes, StanfordNLP -- *Christian Reilly* Co-founder Mednition Inc.
