My apologies for late response, thanks for bringing up this subject. As far as
I can tell, this
particular feature (fastinfoset) is only added into Bus (as an extension) when
SpringBusFactory is
being used to create Bus instances (conditional on classpath and properties).
But this is not how
the Bus instances are injected into Spring context: typically the instance of
SpringBus is created
directly (cxf.xml). I don't know if fastinfoset feature is even used and it
seems like, as you
mentioned, it certainly falls into deprecated way to configure Spring context
using configuration
XML files. I agree with you that it would make sense to a) remove it in 4.0 b)
replace XML
configuration with (pre)defined / (pre)generated classes. @Dan do you have any
thoughts of
the that?
